Is it a UTI?
Symptoms of urinary tract infection can obviously vary. The most common is to have a burning pain when you urinate. However other clues can be frequency of urination, urgency of urination (which means that you feel like you have to urinate immediately) and hesitancy (which means that is difficult to sometimes start your flow). Sometimes people will have a burning sensation in their lower abdomen even when they are not urinating. Other symptoms include foul-smelling urine or even blood in the urine, which can occur secondary to bladder wall irritation.
If you begin to feel pain in your back or develop with fever, that can be an indication of a kidney infection, which is a much worse type of infection and often requires an in person evaluation or even intramuscular or intravenous antibiotics. If you have developed a fever that is an indication to go to either urgent care or emergency room.
